
Mumbai, Shishir Bajaj, Chairman of Bajaj Foundation and patriarch of Bajaj Group was honoured with the prestigious “Sarvottam Nagrik Sanman-2025 ” in a grand ceremony held at the prestigious Sahara Star Hotel in Mumbai.
In the presence of Hon’ble Governor of Maharashtra C.P. Radhakrishnan, the honour statues were felicitated by Chairman of Maharashtra Legislative Council Shriram Shinde and Minister of Cultural Affairs Ashish Shelar along with other dignitaries. The “Sarvottam Nagrik Sanman” is given by Megha Shrey Foundation and Mrs. Seema Singh to those individuals who have made significant contributions to the society through their selfless dedication and service and have set an example towards positive change. This year’s ceremony was attended by many eminent personalities like Padma Vibhushan Dr. Anil Kakodkar, Padma Bhushan Dr. Vijay Bhatkar, Padma Shri Dr. Shankar Mahadevan, film director Imtiaz Ali, Padma Bhushan Anupam Kher and Padma Shri Vijender Singh. After receiving the honour, Shri Shishir Bajaj said that our fundamental social efforts began in 1926, when my grandfather Shri Jamnalal Bajaj founded the Bajaj Group to support India’s freedom struggle. He informed that our first sugar factory was established in Uttar Pradesh in 1932 with the aim of making India self-reliant in the field of sugar production. Since then the Group has done excellent work in both business and CSR areas with the aim of nation building and making Indian villages self-reliant. He said that today we are doing social welfare work in 1000 villages of my birthplace Sikar district in Rajasthan and more than 1000 villages of my grandfather’s karmabhoomi Wardha district in Maharashtra.
