
GOLD futures drops by Rs.903 or 0.91% and SILVER futures by Rs.5161 or 4.48%, while CRUDEOIL futures
gains by Rs.380 or 6.7% : MCXBULLDEX futures reaches at 22885
Mumbai: During the week of July 25-31, the leading commodity derivatives exchange MCX recorded a total turnover of
₹20,72,591.96 crore in commodity futures, options, and index futures. Commodity futures accounted for ₹1,82,784.1 crore, while
commodity options recorded a notional turnover of ₹18,89,787.96 crore. The August futures of the bullion index MCX Bulldex closed
at 22,885 points. The total premium turnover in commodity options was ₹22,047.93 crore.

During the week, trading in precious metals, specifically gold and silver futures, amounted to ₹1,35,017.51 crore. MCX Gold October
futures opened at ₹99,506, reaching an intra-day high of ₹99,840 and a low of ₹98,079, closing at ₹98,769 per 10 grams, down
₹903 or 0.91% from the previous close of ₹99,672. Gold-Guinea August futures fell ₹551 or 0.69%, closing at ₹79,208 per 8 grams.
Gold-Petal August futures dropped ₹76 or 0.76%, closing at ₹9,929 per gram. Gold-Mini September futures opened at ₹98,807, hit
an intra-day high of ₹99,300 and a low of ₹97,723, closing at ₹98,358 per 10 grams, down ₹844 or 0.85%. Gold-Ten August futures
opened at ₹99,349, reached an intra-day high of ₹99,445 and a low of ₹97,970, closing at ₹98,596 per 10 grams, down ₹754 or
0.76% from the previous close of ₹99,350.
In silver futures, Silver September futures opened at ₹1,15,466, hit an intra-day high of ₹1,15,700 and a low of ₹1,09,080, closing at
₹1,09,972 per kilogram, down ₹5,161 or 4.48% from the previous close of ₹1,15,133. Silver-Mini August futures fell ₹4,983 or
4.34%, closing at ₹1,09,887 per kilogram, while Silver-Micro August futures dropped ₹4,999 or 4.35%, closing at ₹1,09,882 per
kilogram.
In the metals segment, trades worth ₹9,471.59 crore were recorded. Copper August futures fell ₹24.15 or 2.68%, closing at ₹876.15
per kilogram. Zinc August futures dropped ₹2.8 or 1.04%, closing at ₹265.55 per kilogram. Aluminium August futures declined ₹4.95
or 1.94%, closing at ₹250.45 per kilogram, while Lead August futures fell ₹2.2 or 1.21%, closing at ₹179.5 per kilogram.
In the energy segment, traders executed deals worth ₹32,007.97 crore. MCX Crude Oil August futures opened at ₹5,750, hit a high
of ₹6,184 and a low of ₹5,641, closing at ₹6,052 per barrel, up ₹380 or 6.7%. Crude Oil-Mini August futures rose ₹378 or 6.66%,
closing at ₹6,053 per barrel. Natural Gas August futures opened at ₹273.3, hit a high of ₹279.2 and a low of ₹261.5, closing
unchanged at ₹271.8 per MMBTU from the previous close. Natural Gas-Mini August futures softened by ₹0.3 or 0.11%, closing at
₹271.8 per MMBTU.
In agricultural commodities, Mentha Oil August futures opened at ₹907, gaining ₹19 or 2.09%, closing at ₹926 per kilogram.
In terms of trading volume, gold contracts on MCX recorded ₹85,649.06 crore, and silver contracts saw ₹49,368.46 crore in trades.
Copper futures recorded ₹5,483.30 crore, aluminium and aluminium-mini futures ₹1,297.25 crore, lead and lead-mini futures
₹246.16 crore, and zinc and zinc-mini futures ₹2,444.88 crore. Crude oil and crude oil-mini futures saw ₹8,210.55 crore in trades,
while natural gas and natural gas-mini futures recorded ₹23,770.65 crore. Mentha oil futures saw ₹30.23 crore in trades.
Open interest at the week’s end stood at 12,270 lots for gold futures, 27,048 lots for gold-mini futures, 6,451 lots for gold-guinea
futures, 1,06,631 lots for gold-petal futures, and 8,346 lots for gold-ten futures. Silver futures had 20,365 lots, silver-mini futures
31,178 lots, and silver-micro futures 88,518 lots. Crude oil futures had 9,686 lots, and natural gas futures had 35,689 lots.
