
Mumbai : India’s leading commodity derivatives exchange, Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) has recorded turnover of Rs.100893.82 crores in various futures & option contracts for commodities listed at MCX on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 till 4:00 pm. In which commodity futures accounted for Rs. 12860.66 crores and options on commodity futures for Rs. 88032.84 crores (notional). Bullion Index MCXBULLDEX May-25 futures was reached at 21653.
Commodity Future Contracts:
Bullion: In precious metals, Turnover of GOLD and SILVER futures variants clocked Rs. 9466.97 crores. At the time of writing, MCX GOLD futures, with June-2025 expiry contract was down by Rs.197 or 0.21% to Rs. 93450 per 10 gram, GOLDTEN May-2025 contract was down by Rs.149 or 0.16% to Rs. 93634 per 10 gram, GOLDGUINEA May-2025 contract was down by Rs.157 or 0.21% to Rs. 75296 per 8 gram and GOLDPETAL May-2025 contract was down by Rs.23 or 0.24% to Rs. 9452 per gram. On other hand, GOLDM June-2025 contract was down by Rs.209 or 0.22% to Rs. 93450 per 10 gram.
SILVER futures, with July expiry contract was down by Rs.78 or 0.08% to Rs. 96689 per kg, while SILVERM June-2025 contract was down by Rs.82 or 0.08% to Rs. 96688 per kg and SILVERMIC June-2025 contract was down by Rs.66 or 0.07% to Rs. 96691 per kg.
GOLD futures clocked turnover of Rs. 5157.85 crores with volume of 5517 lots and OI of 17662 lots while SILVER futures clocked turnover of Rs. 1384.10 crores with volume of 4778 lots and OI of 18475 lots.
Base Metal: Turnover of base metal futures products accounted for Rs. 1893.18 crores. COPPER May-2025 contract was up by Rs.2.45 or 0.28% to Rs. 862.6 per kg and ZINC May-2025 contract was up by Rs.3.75 or 1.47% to Rs. 259.7 per kg while ALUMINIUM May-2025 contract was up by Rs.3.65 or 1.52% to Rs. 243.3 per kg and LEAD May-2025 without any changes 178.4 per kg.
COPPER futures clocked turnover of Rs. 1154.85 crores, ALUMINIUM futures Rs. 202.98 crores, LEAD futures Rs. 52.28 crores, and ZINC futures clocked turnover of Rs. 327.75 crores.
Energy: Turnover of energy futures products contributed for Rs. 1530.01 crores. CRUDEOIL May-2025 contract was down by Rs.59 or 1.09% to Rs. 5371 per BBL while NATURALGAS May-2025 contract was down by Rs.4.7 or 1.52% to Rs. 305.2 per MMBTU.
CRUDE OIL futures clocked turnover of Rs. 775.99 crores and NATURAL GAS futures Rs. 566.04 crores.
AGRI: MENTHAOIL May-2025 contract was down by Rs.1 or 0.11% to Rs. 914 per kg and COTTONCNDY May-2025 contract was up by Rs.50 or 0.09% to Rs. 54200 per candy.
Options on Commodity Future Contracts:
Commodity Options accounted for Rs. 88032.84 crores turnover (notional), having premium turnover of Rs. 918.25 crores.
CRUDE OIL Options: Most traded contracts among CRUDE OIL Options were Call Option May contract at Strike price of Rs.5400 was down by Rs.33.7 or 42.6% to Rs. 45.40 with volume of 140018 lots & OI of 21759 lots, while CRUDE OIL Put Option May-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.5400 was up by Rs.29.7 or 61.11% to Rs. 78.3 with volume of 142314 lots & OI of 19580 lots.
NATURAL GAS Options: Most traded contracts among NATURAL GAS Options were Call Option May contract at Strike price of Rs.310 was down by Rs.2.15 or 15.47% to Rs. 11.75 with volume of 11073 lots & OI of 5051 lots, while NATURAL GAS Put Option May-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.310 was up by Rs.2.6 or 18.71% to Rs. 16.5 with volume of 7174 lots & OI of 4102 lots.
GOLD Options: Most traded contracts among GOLD Options were Call Option May-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.95000 was down by Rs.107.5 or 13.58% to Rs. 684 with volume of 1832 lots & OI of 829 lots, while GOLD Put Option May-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.92000 was up by Rs.20 or 2.92% to Rs. 705 with volume of 1963 lots & OI of 847 lots.
SILVER Options: Most traded contracts among SILVER Options were Call Option June contract at Strike price of Rs.97000 was down by Rs.92 or 3.2% to Rs. 2781 with volume of 374 lots & OI of 378 lots, while SILVER Put Option June-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.96000 was down by Rs.64 or 2.52% to Rs. 2480 with volume of 301 lots & OI of 184 lots.
