
Mumbai : India’s leading commodity derivatives exchange, Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) has recorded turnover of Rs.173724.34 crores in various futures & option contracts for commodities listed at MCX on Monday, May 12, 2025 till 4:45 pm. In which commodity futures accounted for Rs. 32741.17 crores and options on commodity futures for Rs. 140979.4 crores (notional). Bullion Index MCXBULLDEX May-25 futures was reached at 21393.
Commodity Future Contracts:
Bullion: In precious metals, Turnover of GOLD and SILVER futures variants clocked Rs. 27071.82 crores. At the time of writing, MCX GOLD futures, with June-2025 expiry contract was down by Rs.3853 or 3.99% to Rs. 92665 per 10 gram, GOLDTEN May-2025 contract was down by Rs.3631 or 3.76% to Rs. 92958 per 10 gram, GOLDGUINEA May-2025 contract was down by Rs.2832 or 3.65% to Rs. 74825 per 8 gram and GOLDPETAL May-2025 contract was down by Rs.331 or 3.4% to Rs. 9393 per gram. On other hand, GOLDM June-2025 contract was down by Rs.3790 or 3.93% to Rs. 92700 per 10 gram.
SILVER futures, with July expiry contract was down by Rs.2179 or 2.25% to Rs. 94550 per kg, while SILVERM June-2025 contract was down by Rs.2142 or 2.21% to Rs. 94575 per kg and SILVERMIC June-2025 contract was down by Rs.2153 or 2.23% to Rs. 94578 per kg.
GOLD futures clocked turnover of Rs. 14621.41 crores with volume of 15635 lots and OI of 18157 lots while SILVER futures clocked turnover of Rs. 3346.74 crores with volume of 11731 lots and OI of 19063 lots.
Base Metal: Turnover of base metal futures products accounted for Rs. 2277.43 crores. COPPER May-2025 contract was up by Rs.3.1 or 0.36% to Rs. 854.7 per kg and ZINC May-2025 contract was up by Rs.3.35 or 1.33% to Rs. 254.35 per kg while ALUMINIUM May-2025 contract was up by Rs.4.7 or 2.01% to Rs. 238.25 per kg and LEAD May-2025 contract was down by Rs.0.05 or 0.03% to Rs. 178.25 per kg.
COPPER futures clocked turnover of Rs. 1505.98 crores, ALUMINIUM futures Rs. 286.10 crores, LEAD futures Rs. 18.38 crores, and ZINC futures clocked turnover of Rs. 306.95 crores.
Energy: Turnover of energy futures products contributed for Rs. 3098.03 crores. CRUDEOIL May-2025 contract was up by Rs.165 or 3.17% to Rs. 5377 per BBL while NATURALGAS May-2025 contract was down by Rs.0.8 or 0.25% to Rs. 321.6 per MMBTU.
CRUDE OIL futures clocked turnover of Rs. 1238.59 crores and NATURAL GAS futures Rs. 1396.32 crores.
AGRI: MENTHAOIL May-2025 contract was down by Rs.0.4 or 0.04% to Rs. 915 per kg and COTTONCNDY May-2025 contract was up by Rs.200 or 0.37% to Rs. 54200 per candy.

Commodity Options accounted for Rs. 140979.4 crores turnover (notional), having premium turnover of Rs. 1953.1 crores.
CRUDE OIL Options: Most traded contracts among CRUDE OIL Options were Call Option May contract at Strike price of Rs.5300 was up by Rs.69.7 or 111.88% to Rs. 132.00 with volume of 154637 lots & OI of 12490 lots, while CRUDE OIL Put Option May-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.5300 was down by Rs.92.4 or 61.11% to Rs. 58.8 with volume of 123315 lots & OI of 14883 lots.
NATURAL GAS Options: Most traded contracts among NATURAL GAS Options were Call Option May contract at Strike price of Rs.320 was down by Rs.1.55 or 8.78% to Rs. 16.10 with volume of 20003 lots & OI of 4603 lots, while NATURAL GAS Put Option May-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.320 was up by Rs.0.65 or 4.25% to Rs. 15.95 with volume of 20788 lots & OI of 3810 lots.
GOLD Options: Most traded contracts among GOLD Options were Call Option May-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.96000 was down by Rs.1425 or 74.55% to Rs. 486.5 with volume of 2853 lots & OI of 756 lots, while GOLD Put Option May-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.90000 was up by Rs.458.5 or 265.03% to Rs. 631.5 with volume of 3167 lots & OI of 926 lots.
SILVER Options: Most traded contracts among SILVER Options were Call Option June contract at Strike price of Rs.100000 was down by Rs.577.5 or 28.91% to Rs. 1420 with volume of 747 lots & OI of 1202 lots, while SILVER Put Option June-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.95000 was up by Rs.1079 or 47.51% to Rs. 3350 with volume of 767 lots & OI of 480 lots.
