
Mumbai : India’s leading commodity derivatives exchange, Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) has recorded turnover of Rs.142841.01 crores in various futures & option contracts for commodities listed at MCX on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 till 4:30 pm. In which commodity futures accounted for Rs. 20902.26 crores and options on commodity futures for Rs. 121932.26 crores (notional). Bullion Index MCXBULLDEX Jun-25 futures was reached at 21900.
Commodity Future Contracts:
Bullion: In precious metals, Turnover of GOLD and SILVER futures variants clocked Rs. 17643.02 crores. At the time of writing, MCX GOLD futures, with June-2025 expiry contract was down by Rs.893 or 0.93% to Rs. 95044 per 10 gram, GOLDTEN May-2025 contract was down by Rs.821 or 0.85% to Rs. 95417 per 10 gram, GOLDGUINEA May-2025 contract was down by Rs.48 or 0.06% to Rs. 76562 per 8 gram and GOLDPETAL May-2025 contract was up by Rs.10 or 0.1% to Rs. 9629 per gram. On other hand, GOLDM June-2025 contract was down by Rs.804 or 0.84% to Rs. 95010 per 10 gram.
SILVER futures, with July expiry contract was down by Rs.1151 or 1.17% to Rs. 96852 per kg, while SILVERM June-2025 contract was down by Rs.1100 or 1.12% to Rs. 96820 per kg and SILVERMIC June-2025 contract was down by Rs.1086 or 1.11% to Rs. 96830 per kg.
GOLD futures clocked turnover of Rs. 10761.46 crores with volume of 11230 lots and OI of 19385 lots while SILVER futures clocked turnover of Rs. 1768.76 crores with volume of 6055 lots and OI of 19564 lots.
Base Metal: Turnover of base metal futures products accounted for Rs. 1310.57 crores. COPPER May-2025 contract was down by Rs.2.55 or 0.3% to Rs. 857.6 per kg and ZINC May-2025 contract was down by Rs.1.55 or 0.6% to Rs. 256.65 per kg while ALUMINIUM May-2025 contract was down by Rs.0.2 or 0.09% to Rs. 234.85 per kg and LEAD May-2025 contract was up by Rs.0.25 or 0.14% to Rs. 176.85 per kg.
COPPER futures clocked turnover of Rs. 847.37 crores, ALUMINIUM futures Rs. 161.54 crores, LEAD futures Rs. 22.29 crores, and ZINC futures clocked turnover of Rs. 184.17 crores.
Energy: Turnover of energy futures products contributed for Rs. 1600.02 crores. CRUDEOIL June-2025 contract was up by Rs.11 or 0.21% to Rs. 5266 per BBL while NATURALGAS May-2025 contract was down by Rs.0.9 or 0.32% to Rs. 277.9 per MMBTU.
CRUDE OIL futures clocked turnover of Rs. 329.95 crores and NATURAL GAS futures Rs. 1016.76 crores.
AGRI: MENTHAOIL May-2025 contract was down by Rs.21.1 or 2.32% to Rs. 890 per kg and COTTONCNDY May-2025 contract was down by Rs.220 or 0.41% to Rs. 53250 per candy.
Options on Commodity Future Contracts:
Commodity Options accounted for Rs. 121932.26 crores turnover (notional), having premium turnover of Rs. 854.18 crores.
CRUDE OIL Options: Most traded contracts among CRUDE OIL Options were Call Option June contract at Strike price of Rs.5300 was up by Rs.0.9 or 0.52% to Rs. 175.00 with volume of 34862 lots & OI of 13660 lots, while CRUDE OIL Put Option June-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.5200 was down by Rs.4.6 or 2.68% to Rs. 167.2 with volume of 27982 lots & OI of 10435 lots.
NATURAL GAS Options: Most traded contracts among NATURAL GAS Options were Call Option June contract at Strike price of Rs.320 was up by Rs.0.05 or 0.26% to Rs. 19.35 with volume of 6539 lots & OI of 2250 lots, while NATURAL GAS Put Option June-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.280 without any changes 8.5 with volume of 9213 lots & OI of 5623 lots.
GOLD Options: Most traded contracts among GOLD Options were Call Option May-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.96000 was down by Rs.303 or 90.58% to Rs. 31.5 with volume of 10239 lots & OI of 1933 lots, while GOLD Put Option May-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.95000 was up by Rs.145.5 or 144.06% to Rs. 246.5 with volume of 13028 lots & OI of 1208 lots.
SILVER Options: Most traded contracts among SILVER Options were Call Option June contract at Strike price of Rs.98000 was down by Rs.421 or 15.75% to Rs. 2252.5 with volume of 473 lots & OI of 582 lots, while SILVER Put Option June-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.97000 was up by Rs.498.5 or 23.37% to Rs. 2631.5 with volume of 476 lots & OI of 283 lots.
