
Mumbai : India’s leading commodity derivatives exchange, Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) has recorded turnover of Rs.44915.53 crores in various futures & option contracts for commodities listed at MCX on Wednesday, May 28, 2025 till 4:30 pm. In which commodity futures accounted for Rs. 16031.69 crores and options on commodity futures for Rs. 28883.51 crores (notional). Bullion Index MCXBULLDEX Jun-25 futures was reached at 22071.
Commodity Future Contracts:
Bullion: In precious metals, Turnover of GOLD and SILVER futures variants clocked Rs. 13158.23 crores. At the time of writing, MCX GOLD futures, with June-2025 expiry contract was up by Rs.447 or 0.47% to Rs. 95590 per 10 gram, GOLDTEN May-2025 contract was up by Rs.565 or 0.59% to Rs. 96115 per 10 gram, GOLDGUINEA May-2025 contract was up by Rs.231 or 0.3% to Rs. 76987 per 8 gram and GOLDPETAL May-2025 contract was up by Rs.20 or 0.21% to Rs. 9670 per gram. On other hand, GOLDM June-2025 contract was up by Rs.420 or 0.44% to Rs. 95475 per 10 gram.
SILVER futures, with July expiry contract was up by Rs.522 or 0.54% to Rs. 97997 per kg, while SILVERM June-2025 contract was up by Rs.487 or 0.5% to Rs. 97871 per kg and SILVERMIC June-2025 contract was up by Rs.497 or 0.51% to Rs. 97872 per kg.
GOLD futures clocked turnover of Rs. 8128.40 crores with volume of 8464 lots and OI of 17320 lots while SILVER futures clocked turnover of Rs. 1462.30 crores with volume of 4970 lots and OI of 19293 lots.
Base Metal: Turnover of base metal futures products accounted for Rs. 864.37 crores. COPPER May-2025 without any changes 858.6 per kg and ZINC May-2025 contract was up by Rs.2.8 or 1.1% to Rs. 256.75 per kg while ALUMINIUM May-2025 contract was down by Rs.1.35 or 0.57% to Rs. 236.1 per kg and LEAD May-2025 contract was up by Rs.0.2 or 0.11% to Rs. 175.7 per kg.
COPPER futures clocked turnover of Rs. 555.75 crores, ALUMINIUM futures Rs. 77.56 crores, LEAD futures Rs. 7.63 crores, and ZINC futures clocked turnover of Rs. 152.02 crores.
Energy: Turnover of energy futures products contributed for Rs. 1602.28 crores. CRUDEOIL June-2025 contract was up by Rs.70 or 1.35% to Rs. 5261 per BBL while NATURALGAS June-2025 contract was up by Rs.1.6 or 0.51% to Rs. 317.5 per MMBTU.
CRUDE OIL futures clocked turnover of Rs. 494.49 crores and NATURAL GAS futures Rs. 858.63 crores.
AGRI: MENTHAOIL May-2025 contract was down by Rs.43 or 4.9% to Rs. 835 per kg and COTTONCNDY May-2025 contract was up by Rs.80 or 0.15% to Rs. 53500 per candy.
Options on Commodity Future Contracts:
Commodity Options accounted for Rs. 28883.51 crores turnover (notional), having premium turnover of Rs. 700.56 crores.
CRUDE OIL Options: Most traded contracts among CRUDE OIL Options were Call Option June contract at Strike price of Rs.5300 was up by Rs.27.6 or 19.14% to Rs. 171.80 with volume of 30569 lots & OI of 12333 lots, while CRUDE OIL Put Option June-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.5200 was down by Rs.30.4 or 15.4% to Rs. 167 with volume of 31777 lots & OI of 10845 lots.
NATURAL GAS Options: Most traded contracts among NATURAL GAS Options were Call Option June contract at Strike price of Rs.320 was up by Rs.0.55 or 2.78% to Rs. 20.35 with volume of 7401 lots & OI of 3174 lots, while NATURAL GAS Put Option June-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.320 was down by Rs.0.85 or 3.57% to Rs. 22.95 with volume of 7420 lots & OI of 2941 lots.
GOLD Options: Most traded contracts among GOLD Options were Call Option June-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.96000 was up by Rs.251 or 13.49% to Rs. 2111.5 with volume of 696 lots & OI of 310 lots, while GOLD Put Option June-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.95000 was down by Rs.132.5 or 9.19% to Rs. 1310 with volume of 822 lots & OI of 619 lots.
SILVER Options: Most traded contracts among SILVER Options were Call Option June contract at Strike price of Rs.98000 was up by Rs.147 or 6.25% to Rs. 2500 with volume of 476 lots & OI of 505 lots, while SILVER Put Option June-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.98000 was down by Rs.308.5 or 10.87% to Rs. 2530 with volume of 455 lots & OI of 448 lots.
