Mumbai : India’s leading commodity derivatives exchange, Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) has recorded turnover of Rs.67486.79 crores in various futures & option contracts for commodities listed at MCX on Friday, May 09, 2025 till 4:30 pm. In which commodity futures accounted for Rs. 11905.84 crores and options on commodity futures for Rs. 55580.56 crores (notional). Bullion Index MCXBULLDEX May-25 futures was reached at 22132.
Commodity Future Contracts:
Bullion: In precious metals, Turnover of GOLD and SILVER futures variants clocked Rs. 9210.11 crores. At the time of writing, MCX GOLD futures, with June-2025 expiry was down by Rs.2 to 96166 per 10 gram, GOLDTEN May-2025 contract was up by Rs.19 or 0.02% to Rs. 96420 per 10 gram, GOLDGUINEA May-2025 contract was down by Rs.37 or 0.05% to Rs. 77434 per 8 gram and GOLDPETAL May-2025 contract was down by Rs.2 or 0.02% to Rs. 9703 per gram. On other hand, GOLDM June-2025 contract was up by Rs.22 or 0.02% to Rs. 96175 per 10 gram.
SILVER futures, with July expiry contract was down by Rs.240 or 0.25% to Rs. 96272 per kg, while SILVERM June-2025 contract was down by Rs.207 or 0.21% to Rs. 96299 per kg and SILVERMIC June-2025 contract was down by Rs.179 or 0.19% to Rs. 96334 per kg.
GOLD futures clocked turnover of Rs. 5351.34 crores with volume of 5557 lots and OI of 18642 lots while SILVER futures clocked turnover of Rs. 970.39 crores with volume of 3357 lots and OI of 17453 lots.
Base Metal: Turnover of base metal futures products accounted for Rs. 1377.91 crores. COPPER May-2025 contract was down by Rs.4.55 or 0.53% to Rs. 851.35 per kg and ZINC May-2025 contract was down by Rs.0.15 or 0.06% to Rs. 250.9 per kg while ALUMINIUM May-2025 contract was down by Rs.0.1 or 0.04% to Rs. 234.2 per kg and LEAD May-2025 contract was down by Rs.0.45 or 0.25% to Rs. 177.8 per kg.
COPPER futures clocked turnover of Rs. 948.68 crores, ALUMINIUM futures Rs. 66.53 crores, LEAD futures Rs. 13.35 crores, and ZINC futures clocked turnover of Rs. 242.25 crores.
Energy: Turnover of energy futures products contributed for Rs. 1236.61 crores. CRUDEOIL May-2025 contract was up by Rs.69 or 1.34% to Rs. 5232 per BBL while NATURALGAS May-2025 contract was up by Rs.4.7 or 1.53% to Rs. 311.5 per MMBTU.
CRUDE OIL futures clocked turnover of Rs. 447.90 crores and NATURAL GAS futures Rs. 592.71 crores.
AGRI: MENTHAOIL May-2025 contract was down by Rs.8.3 or 0.9% to Rs. 917 per kg and COTTONCNDY May-2025 contract was down by Rs.190 or 0.35% to Rs. 54000 per candy.
Options on Commodity Future Contracts:
Commodity Options accounted for Rs. 55580.56 crores turnover (notional), having premium turnover of Rs. 874.11 crores.
CRUDE OIL Options: Most traded contracts among CRUDE OIL Options were Call Option May contract at Strike price of Rs.5200 was up by Rs.38.7 or 40.82% to Rs. 133.50 with volume of 76615 lots & OI of 13600 lots, while CRUDE OIL Put Option May-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.5200 was down by Rs.33.2 or 24.61% to Rs. 101.7 with volume of 46022 lots & OI of 11132 lots.
NATURAL GAS Options: Most traded contracts among NATURAL GAS Options were Call Option May contract at Strike price of Rs.310 was up by Rs.1.9 or 12.34% to Rs. 17.30 with volume of 8940 lots & OI of 4167 lots, while NATURAL GAS Put Option May-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.310 was down by Rs.2.35 or 12.74% to Rs. 16.1 with volume of 8384 lots & OI of 3227 lots.
GOLD Options: Most traded contracts among GOLD Options were Call Option May-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.97000 was down by Rs.3 or 0.22% to Rs. 1389 with volume of 906 lots & OI of 673 lots, while GOLD Put Option May-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.96000 was down by Rs.22 or 1.33% to Rs. 1636 with volume of 796 lots & OI of 478 lots.
SILVER Options: Most traded contracts among SILVER Options were Call Option June contract at Strike price of Rs.100000 was down by Rs.120.5 or 6.17% to Rs. 1831.5 with volume of 309 lots & OI of 1212 lots, while SILVER Put Option June-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.96000 was up by Rs.7.5 or 0.26% to Rs. 2898 with volume of 227 lots & OI of 185 lots.
