Mumbai : India’s leading commodity derivatives exchange, Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) has recorded turnover of Rs.84176.39 crores in various futures & option contracts for commodities listed at MCX on Friday, May 23, 2025 till 4:00 pm. In which commodity futures accounted for Rs. 12456.87 crores and options on commodity futures for Rs. 71718.6 crores (notional). Bullion Index MCXBULLDEX May-25 futures was reached at 22024.
Commodity Future Contracts:
Bullion: In precious metals, Turnover of GOLD and SILVER futures variants clocked Rs. 10174.62 crores. At the time of writing, MCX GOLD futures, with June-2025 expiry contract was up by Rs.120 or 0.13% to Rs. 95656 per 10 gram, GOLDTEN May-2025 contract was up by Rs.111 or 0.12% to Rs. 95609 per 10 gram, GOLDGUINEA May-2025 contract was down by Rs.74 or 0.1% to Rs. 76470 per 8 gram and GOLDPETAL May-2025 contract was down by Rs.10 or 0.1% to Rs. 9597 per gram. On other hand, GOLDM June-2025 contract was up by Rs.85 or 0.09% to Rs. 95546 per 10 gram.
SILVER futures, with July expiry contract was down by Rs.348 or 0.36% to Rs. 97448 per kg, while SILVERM June-2025 contract was down by Rs.271 or 0.28% to Rs. 97400 per kg and SILVERMIC June-2025 contract was down by Rs.271 or 0.28% to Rs. 97400 per kg.
GOLD futures clocked turnover of Rs. 5689.34 crores with volume of 5916 lots and OI of 21124 lots while SILVER futures clocked turnover of Rs. 1364.52 crores with volume of 4645 lots and OI of 19192 lots.
Base Metal: Turnover of base metal futures products accounted for Rs. 1182.89 crores. COPPER May-2025 contract was down by Rs.2.4 or 0.28% to Rs. 856.8 per kg and ZINC May-2025 contract was down by Rs.1.55 or 0.6% to Rs. 258.9 per kg while ALUMINIUM May-2025 contract was down by Rs.1.1 or 0.46% to Rs. 235.75 per kg and LEAD May-2025 contract was down by Rs.0.25 or 0.14% to Rs. 177.1 per kg.
COPPER futures clocked turnover of Rs. 714.22 crores, ALUMINIUM futures Rs. 168.92 crores, LEAD futures Rs. 12.10 crores, and ZINC futures clocked turnover of Rs. 204.35 crores.
Energy: Turnover of energy futures products contributed for Rs. 904.04 crores. CRUDEOIL June-2025 contract was down by Rs.32 or 0.61% to Rs. 5233 per BBL while NATURALGAS May-2025 contract was down by Rs.0.6 or 0.21% to Rs. 280.3 per MMBTU.
CRUDE OIL futures clocked turnover of Rs. 328.40 crores and NATURAL GAS futures Rs. 437.21 crores.
AGRI: MENTHAOIL May-2025 contract was down by Rs.2.1 or 0.23% to Rs. 907 per kg and COTTONCNDY May-2025 contract was down by Rs.220 or 0.41% to Rs. 53850 per candy.
Options on Commodity Future Contracts:
Commodity Options accounted for Rs. 71718.6 crores turnover (notional), having premium turnover of Rs. 686.78 crores.
CRUDE OIL Options: Most traded contracts among CRUDE OIL Options were Call Option June contract at Strike price of Rs.5200 was down by Rs.13.5 or 5.62% to Rs. 226.90 with volume of 21199 lots & OI of 11699 lots, while CRUDE OIL Put Option June-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.5200 was up by Rs.10.9 or 6.03% to Rs. 191.7 with volume of 24518 lots & OI of 9305 lots.
NATURAL GAS Options: Most traded contracts among NATURAL GAS Options were Call Option May contract at Strike price of Rs.300 was down by Rs.0.5 or 83.33% to Rs. 0.10 with volume of 29523 lots & OI of 11855 lots, while NATURAL GAS Put Option May-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.280 was down by Rs.1.05 or 22.58% to Rs. 3.6 with volume of 32886 lots & OI of 10173 lots.
GOLD Options: Most traded contracts among GOLD Options were Call Option May-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.96000 was up by Rs.6.5 or 1.18% to Rs. 555.5 with volume of 4803 lots & OI of 1085 lots, while GOLD Put Option May-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.95000 was down by Rs.133.5 or 24.98% to Rs. 401 with volume of 4886 lots & OI of 2064 lots.
SILVER Options: Most traded contracts among SILVER Options were Call Option June contract at Strike price of Rs.98000 was down by Rs.136 or 5% to Rs. 2583 with volume of 413 lots & OI of 446 lots, while SILVER Put Option June-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.98000 was up by Rs.150 or 5.21% to Rs. 3031 with volume of 260 lots & OI of 409 lots.
