
Mumbai : India’s leading commodity derivatives exchange, Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) has recorded turnover of Rs.159847.43 crores in various futures & option contracts for commodities listed at MCX on Thursday, May 15, 2025 till 4:30 pm. In which commodity futures accounted for Rs. 25136.24 crores and options on commodity futures for Rs. 134709.8 crores (notional). Bullion Index MCXBULLDEX May-25 futures was reached at 21269.
Commodity Future Contracts:
Bullion: In precious metals, Turnover of GOLD and SILVER futures variants clocked Rs. 20969.15 crores. At the time of writing, MCX GOLD futures, with June-2025 expiry contract was down by Rs.163 or 0.18% to Rs. 92102 per 10 gram, GOLDTEN May-2025 contract was down by Rs.223 or 0.24% to Rs. 92365 per 10 gram, GOLDGUINEA May-2025 contract was down by Rs.189 or 0.25% to Rs. 74318 per 8 gram and GOLDPETAL May-2025 contract was down by Rs.27 or 0.29% to Rs. 9337 per gram. On other hand, GOLDM June-2025 contract was down by Rs.200 or 0.22% to Rs. 92105 per 10 gram.
SILVER futures, with July expiry contract was down by Rs.605 or 0.63% to Rs. 94861 per kg, while SILVERM June-2025 contract was down by Rs.607 or 0.64% to Rs. 94888 per kg and SILVERMIC June-2025 contract was down by Rs.606 or 0.63% to Rs. 94890 per kg.
GOLD futures clocked turnover of Rs. 12516.15 crores with volume of 13660 lots and OI of 17525 lots while SILVER futures clocked turnover of Rs. 2409.46 crores with volume of 8497 lots and OI of 23586 lots.
Base Metal: Turnover of base metal futures products accounted for Rs. 1875.55 crores. COPPER May-2025 contract was down by Rs.4.05 or 0.47% to Rs. 855.65 per kg and ZINC May-2025 contract was down by Rs.2.75 or 1.06% to Rs. 257.8 per kg while ALUMINIUM May-2025 contract was down by Rs.3 or 1.23% to Rs. 240.95 per kg and LEAD May-2025 contract was down by Rs.0.05 or 0.03% to Rs. 178.55 per kg.
COPPER futures clocked turnover of Rs. 1290.54 crores, ALUMINIUM futures Rs. 155.70 crores, LEAD futures Rs. 28.23 crores, and ZINC futures clocked turnover of Rs. 261.45 crores.
Energy: Turnover of energy futures products contributed for Rs. 2270.57 crores. CRUDEOIL May-2025 contract was down by Rs.199 or 3.67% to Rs. 5219 per BBL while NATURALGAS May-2025 contract was down by Rs.0.6 or 0.2% to Rs. 298.7 per MMBTU.
CRUDE OIL futures clocked turnover of Rs. 1440.51 crores and NATURAL GAS futures Rs. 557.03 crores.
AGRI: MENTHAOIL May-2025 contract was down by Rs.1.3 or 0.14% to Rs. 911 per kg and COTTONCNDY May-2025 contract was up by Rs.370 or 0.68% to Rs. 55000 per candy.

Commodity Options accounted for Rs. 134709.8 crores turnover (notional), having premium turnover of Rs. 1333.42 crores.
CRUDE OIL Options: Most traded contracts among CRUDE OIL Options were Call Option May contract at Strike price of Rs.5300 was down by Rs.112.6 or 89.44% to Rs. 13.30 with volume of 148095 lots & OI of 16122 lots, while CRUDE OIL Put Option May-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.5200 was up by Rs.27.9 or 775% to Rs. 31.5 with volume of 160039 lots & OI of 9421 lots.
NATURAL GAS Options: Most traded contracts among NATURAL GAS Options were Call Option May contract at Strike price of Rs.300 was down by Rs.0.2 or 1.6% to Rs. 12.30 with volume of 16978 lots & OI of 7234 lots, while NATURAL GAS Put Option May-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.300 was up by Rs.0.6 or 4.56% to Rs. 13.75 with volume of 11444 lots & OI of 7347 lots.
GOLD Options: Most traded contracts among GOLD Options were Call Option May-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.93000 was down by Rs.24 or 2.56% to Rs. 915 with volume of 3324 lots & OI of 948 lots, while GOLD Put Option May-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.90000 was up by Rs.86.5 or 18.66% to Rs. 550 with volume of 3347 lots & OI of 1153 lots.
SILVER Options: Most traded contracts among SILVER Options were Call Option June contract at Strike price of Rs.95000 was down by Rs.287 or 9.2% to Rs. 2833 with volume of 547 lots & OI of 480 lots, while SILVER Put Option June-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.95000 was up by Rs.316.5 or 11.92% to Rs. 2971.5 with volume of 533 lots & OI of 522 lots.
