Mumbai : India’s leading commodity derivatives exchange, Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) has recorded turnover of Rs.100361.65 crores in various futures & option contracts for commodities listed at MCX on Wednesday, May 21, 2025 till 4:30 pm. In which commodity futures accounted for Rs. 17900.27 crores and options on commodity futures for Rs. 82460.85 crores (notional). Bullion Index MCXBULLDEX May-25 futures was reached at 22068.
Commodity Future Contracts:
Bullion: In precious metals, Turnover of GOLD and SILVER futures variants clocked Rs. 14157.91 crores. At the time of writing, MCX GOLD futures, with June-2025 expiry contract was up by Rs.673 or 0.71% to Rs. 95514 per 10 gram, GOLDTEN May-2025 contract was up by Rs.583 or 0.61% to Rs. 95456 per 10 gram, GOLDGUINEA May-2025 contract was up by Rs.651 or 0.86% to Rs. 76683 per 8 gram and GOLDPETAL May-2025 contract was up by Rs.68 or 0.71% to Rs. 9601 per gram. On other hand, GOLDM June-2025 contract was up by Rs.662 or 0.7% to Rs. 95423 per 10 gram.
SILVER futures, with July expiry contract was up by Rs.371 or 0.38% to Rs. 97659 per kg, while SILVERM June-2025 contract was up by Rs.386 or 0.4% to Rs. 97585 per kg and SILVERMIC June-2025 contract was up by Rs.414 or 0.43% to Rs. 97590 per kg.
GOLD futures clocked turnover of Rs. 8485.38 crores with volume of 8853 lots and OI of 20638 lots while SILVER futures clocked turnover of Rs. 1504.42 crores with volume of 5121 lots and OI of 19917 lots.
Base Metal: Turnover of base metal futures products accounted for Rs. 1318.25 crores. COPPER May-2025 contract was up by Rs.0.7 or 0.08% to Rs. 858.9 per kg and ZINC May-2025 contract was up by Rs.0.35 or 0.13% to Rs. 260.55 per kg while ALUMINIUM May-2025 contract was down by Rs.1.3 or 0.54% to Rs. 238.3 per kg and LEAD May-2025 contract was down by Rs.0.2 or 0.11% to Rs. 177.9 per kg.
COPPER futures clocked turnover of Rs. 858.55 crores, ALUMINIUM futures Rs. 127.71 crores, LEAD futures Rs. 21.29 crores, and ZINC futures clocked turnover of Rs. 206.13 crores.
Energy: Turnover of energy futures products contributed for Rs. 2194.76 crores. CRUDEOIL June-2025 contract was up by Rs.36 or 0.67% to Rs. 5370 per BBL while NATURALGAS May-2025 contract was up by Rs.2.1 or 0.72% to Rs. 293.3 per MMBTU.
CRUDE OIL futures clocked turnover of Rs. 454.40 crores and NATURAL GAS futures Rs. 1410.82 crores.
AGRI: MENTHAOIL May-2025 contract was up by Rs.2.9 or 0.32% to Rs. 910 per kg and COTTONCNDY May-2025 contract was down by Rs.300 or 0.55% to Rs. 53900 per candy.
Options on Commodity Future Contracts:
Commodity Options accounted for Rs. 82460.85 crores turnover (notional), having premium turnover of Rs. 1186.71 crores.
CRUDE OIL Options: Most traded contracts among CRUDE OIL Options were Call Option June contract at Strike price of Rs.5400 was up by Rs.18.9 or 11.6% to Rs. 181.80 with volume of 36675 lots & OI of 9642 lots, while CRUDE OIL Put Option June-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.5400 was down by Rs.15.1 or 6.54% to Rs. 215.9 with volume of 28870 lots & OI of 5527 lots.
NATURAL GAS Options: Most traded contracts among NATURAL GAS Options were Call Option May contract at Strike price of Rs.290 was up by Rs.2.45 or 26.2% to Rs. 11.80 with volume of 57682 lots & OI of 7434 lots, while NATURAL GAS Put Option May-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.290 was down by Rs.0.75 or 9.38% to Rs. 7.25 with volume of 53654 lots & OI of 9958 lots.
GOLD Options: Most traded contracts among GOLD Options were Call Option May-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.96000 was up by Rs.216.5 or 42.29% to Rs. 728.5 with volume of 3828 lots & OI of 974 lots, while GOLD Put Option May-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.94000 was down by Rs.234.5 or 38.44% to Rs. 375.5 with volume of 3255 lots & OI of 1454 lots.
SILVER Options: Most traded contracts among SILVER Options were Call Option June contract at Strike price of Rs.100000 was up by Rs.143 or 7.7% to Rs. 2000 with volume of 522 lots & OI of 1383 lots, while SILVER Put Option June-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.96000 was down by Rs.123.5 or 5.73% to Rs. 2031 with volume of 334 lots & OI of 309 lots.
