
Mumbai : India’s leading commodity derivatives exchange, Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) has recorded turnover of Rs.1653415.01 crores in various futures & option contracts during the week of June 27 to July 3. In which commodity futures accounted for Rs. 176181.78 crores and options on commodity futures for Rs. 1477213.81 crores (notional), having premium turnover of Rs. 18701.79 crores. Bullion Index MCXBULLDEX Jul-25 futures was reached at 22591.
Bullion: In precious metals, Turnover of GOLD and SILVER futures variants clocked Rs. 128098.56 crores. MCX Gold futures, with August-2025 expiry contract opened at ₹96,261, reaching an intra-day high of ₹97,780 and a low of ₹94,951 during the week. Compared to the previous close of ₹97,087, it ended the week down by ₹305 or 0.31% at ₹96,782 per 10 grams. Gold-Guinea July futures closed at ₹77,976 per 8 grams, down ₹338 or 0.43%. Gold-Petal July futures fell by ₹30 or 0.31% to ₹9,795 per 1 gram. Gold-Mini August futures opened at ₹97,000, hit an intra-day high of ₹97,795 and a low of ₹95,050, and closed at ₹96,801 per 10 grams, down ₹307 or 0.32%. Gold-Ten July futures opened at ₹97,201 per 10 grams, reached an intra-day high of ₹97,991 and a low of ₹95,366, and closed at ₹97,040 per 10 grams, down ₹281 or 0.29% compared to the previous close of ₹97,321.
In silver futures, Silver September futures opened at ₹107,665, hit an intra-day high of ₹108,730 and a low of ₹105,380, and closed at ₹108,236 per kg, up ₹339 or 0.31% from the previous close of ₹107,897. Silver-Mini August futures gained ₹329 or 0.31% to close at ₹108,079 per kg, while Silver-Micro August futures rose by ₹353 or 0.33% to ₹108,085 per kg.
GOLD futures clocked turnover of Rs. 59462.40 crores with volume of 61591 lots and OI of 12083 lots while SILVER futures clocked turnover of Rs. 23588.81 crores with volume of 73632 lots and OI of 16318 lots.
Base Metal: Turnover of base metal futures products accounted for Rs. 11272.95 crores. Copper July futures rose by ₹2.85 or 0.32% to ₹898.85 per kg. Zinc July futures fell by ₹2.55 or 0.98% to ₹257.45 per kg. Aluminium July futures increased by ₹1 or 0.4% to ₹249.15 per kg, while Lead July futures gained ₹0.85 or 0.47% to ₹181.4 per kg.
COPPER futures clocked turnover of Rs. 8134.18 crores, ALUMINIUM futures Rs. 810.49 crores, LEAD futures Rs. 174.59 crores, and ZINC futures clocked turnover of Rs. 1524.87 crores.
Energy: Turnover of energy futures products contributed for Rs. 36792.91 crores. MCX Crude Oil July futures opened at ₹5,619, reached an intra-day high of ₹5,787 and a low of ₹5,528, and closed at ₹5,724 per barrel, up ₹99 or 1.76%. Crude Oil-Mini July futures rose by ₹97 or 1.72% to ₹5,725 per barrel. Natural Gas July futures opened at ₹307.4, hit an intra-day high of ₹319.4 and a low of ₹282.6, and closed at ₹292.5 per MMBTU, down ₹8.4 or 2.79% from the previous close of ₹300.9. Natural Gas-Mini July futures fell by ₹8.3 or 2.76% to ₹292.6 per MMBTU.
CRUDE OIL futures clocked turnover of Rs. 6549.46 crores and NATURAL GAS futures Rs. 24673.77 crores.
AGRI: In agricultural commodities, Mentha Oil July futures opened at ₹922 and closed at ₹920.6 per kg, down ₹3 or 0.32%.
VOLUME: In terms of trading volume, gold contracts on MCX recorded ₹88,281.08 crore, and silver contracts saw ₹39,817.49 crore in trades. Copper futures recorded ₹8,134.18 crore, Aluminium and Aluminium-Mini futures ₹966.02 crore, Lead and Lead-Mini futures ₹195.71 crore, and Zinc and Zinc-Mini futures ₹1,977.04 crore. Crude Oil and Crude Oil-Mini futures recorded ₹7,454.13 crore, while Natural Gas and Natural Gas-Mini futures saw ₹29,338.78 crore. Mentha Oil futures had a turnover of ₹16.11 crore.
OI: Open interest at the week’s end stood at 12,083 lots for Gold futures, 34,577 lots for Gold-Mini, 9,235 lots for Gold-Guinea, 116,918 lots for Gold-Petal, and 10,784 lots for Gold-Ten. Silver futures had 16,318 lots, Silver-Mini 30,219 lots, and Silver-Micro 104,298 lots. Crude Oil futures had 11,893 lots, and Natural Gas futures had 24,346 lots.
INDEX futures: In index futures, MCX Bulldex July futures opened at 22,481 points, reached an intra-day high of 22,748 and a low of 22,200, and closed at 22,591 points, down 13 points.
