
Mumbai : India’s leading commodity derivatives exchange, Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) has recorded turnover of Rs.84647.42 crores in various futures & option contracts for commodities listed at MCX on Monday, May 19, 2025 till 4:30 pm. In which commodity futures accounted for Rs. 17530.84 crores and options on commodity futures for Rs. 67116.38 crores (notional). Bullion Index MCXBULLDEX May-25 futures was reached at 21490.
Commodity Future Contracts:
Bullion: In precious metals, Turnover of GOLD and SILVER futures variants clocked Rs. 14290.06 crores. At the time of writing, MCX GOLD futures, with June-2025 expiry contract was up by Rs.1199 or 1.3% to Rs. 93640 per 10 gram, GOLDTEN May-2025 contract was up by Rs.1086 or 1.17% to Rs. 93733 per 10 gram, GOLDGUINEA May-2025 contract was up by Rs.552 or 0.74% to Rs. 75167 per 8 gram and GOLDPETAL May-2025 contract was up by Rs.79 or 0.84% to Rs. 9457 per gram. On other hand, GOLDM June-2025 contract was up by Rs.1157 or 1.25% to Rs. 93600 per 10 gram.
SILVER futures, with July expiry contract was up by Rs.750 or 0.79% to Rs. 96068 per kg, while SILVERM June-2025 contract was up by Rs.735 or 0.77% to Rs. 96055 per kg and SILVERMIC June-2025 contract was up by Rs.729 or 0.76% to Rs. 96057 per kg.
GOLD futures clocked turnover of Rs. 8675.38 crores with volume of 9264 lots and OI of 17009 lots while SILVER futures clocked turnover of Rs. 1330.67 crores with volume of 4623 lots and OI of 22403 lots.
Base Metal: Turnover of base metal futures products accounted for Rs. 1336.76 crores. COPPER May-2025 contract was up by Rs.2.9 or 0.34% to Rs. 855 per kg and ZINC May-2025 contract was up by Rs.0.75 or 0.29% to Rs. 257.4 per kg while ALUMINIUM May-2025 contract was down by Rs.2.45 or 1.02% to Rs. 237.05 per kg and LEAD May-2025 contract was down by Rs.0.4 or 0.22% to Rs. 178.25 per kg.
COPPER futures clocked turnover of Rs. 888.41 crores, ALUMINIUM futures Rs. 164.60 crores, LEAD futures Rs. 25.43 crores, and ZINC futures clocked turnover of Rs. 154.72 crores.
Energy: Turnover of energy futures products contributed for Rs. 1315.09 crores. CRUDEOIL May-2025 contract was down by Rs.80 or 1.5% to Rs. 5271 per BBL while NATURALGAS May-2025 contract was down by Rs.7.8 or 2.73% to Rs. 277.5 per MMBTU.
CRUDE OIL futures clocked turnover of Rs. 453.87 crores and NATURAL GAS futures Rs. 663.79 crores.
AGRI: MENTHAOIL May-2025 contract was down by Rs.5.5 or 0.6% to Rs. 904 per kg and COTTONCNDY May-2025 contract was down by Rs.190 or 0.35% to Rs. 53970 per candy.
Options on Commodity Future Contracts:
Commodity Options accounted for Rs. 67116.38 crores turnover (notional), having premium turnover of Rs. 1003.07 crores.
CRUDE OIL Options: Most traded contracts among CRUDE OIL Options were Call Option June contract at Strike price of Rs.5300 was down by Rs.40.5 or 17.52% to Rs. 190.70 with volume of 31572 lots & OI of 9930 lots, while CRUDE OIL Put Option June-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.5200 was up by Rs.31.8 or 18.94% to Rs. 199.7 with volume of 30829 lots & OI of 8210 lots.
NATURAL GAS Options: Most traded contracts among NATURAL GAS Options were Call Option May contract at Strike price of Rs.280 was down by Rs.4.4 or 33.72% to Rs. 8.65 with volume of 24374 lots & OI of 8642 lots, while NATURAL GAS Put Option May-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.280 was up by Rs.3.75 or 48.08% to Rs. 11.55 with volume of 17119 lots & OI of 7606 lots.
GOLD Options: Most traded contracts among GOLD Options were Call Option May-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.94000 was up by Rs.471.5 or 83.38% to Rs. 1037 with volume of 3549 lots & OI of 843 lots, while GOLD Put Option May-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.92000 was down by Rs.440 or 45.2% to Rs. 533.5 with volume of 3247 lots & OI of 1159 lots.
SILVER Options: Most traded contracts among SILVER Options were Call Option June contract at Strike price of Rs.96000 was up by Rs.428 or 17.11% to Rs. 2930 with volume of 518 lots & OI of 363 lots, while SILVER Put Option June-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.95000 was down by Rs.353.5 or 13.63% to Rs. 2239.5 with volume of 277 lots & OI of 529 lots.
