
Mumbai : India’s leading commodity derivatives exchange, Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) has recorded turnover of Rs.97706.73 crores in various futures & option contracts for commodities listed at MCX on Thursday, May 08, 2025 till 4:30 pm. In which commodity futures accounted for Rs. 21785.15 crores and options on commodity futures for Rs. 75919.34 crores (notional). Bullion Index MCXBULLDEX May-25 futures was reached at 22150.
Commodity Future Contracts:
Bullion: In precious metals, Turnover of GOLD and SILVER futures variants clocked Rs. 18438.81 crores. At the time of writing, MCX GOLD futures, with June-2025 expiry contract was down by Rs.460 or 0.47% to Rs. 96630 per 10 gram, GOLDTEN May-2025 contract was down by Rs.464 or 0.48% to Rs. 96744 per 10 gram, GOLDGUINEA May-2025 contract was down by Rs.338 or 0.43% to Rs. 77640 per 8 gram and GOLDPETAL May-2025 contract was down by Rs.26 or 0.27% to Rs. 9739 per gram. On other hand, GOLDM June-2025 contract was down by Rs.440 or 0.45% to Rs. 96625 per 10 gram.
SILVER futures, with July expiry contract was up by Rs.331 or 0.35% to Rs. 96064 per kg, while SILVERM June-2025 contract was up by Rs.257 or 0.27% to Rs. 96075 per kg and SILVERMIC June-2025 contract was up by Rs.257 or 0.27% to Rs. 96073 per kg.
GOLD futures clocked turnover of Rs. 10218.64 crores with volume of 10592 lots and OI of 19744 lots while SILVER futures clocked turnover of Rs. 1914.36 crores with volume of 6668 lots and OI of 18398 lots.
Base Metal: Turnover of base metal futures products accounted for Rs. 1509.75 crores. COPPER May-2025 contract was up by Rs.2.25 or 0.27% to Rs. 848.25 per kg and ZINC May-2025 contract was up by Rs.1.5 or 0.61% to Rs. 248.1 per kg while ALUMINIUM May-2025 contract was up by Rs.2.95 or 1.29% to Rs. 231.7 per kg and LEAD May-2025 contract was up by Rs.0.05 or 0.03% to Rs. 177.45 per kg.
COPPER futures clocked turnover of Rs. 936.58 crores, ALUMINIUM futures Rs. 148.58 crores, LEAD futures Rs. 27.31 crores, and ZINC futures clocked turnover of Rs. 260.59 crores.
Energy: Turnover of energy futures products contributed for Rs. 1764.54 crores. CRUDEOIL May-2025 contract was up by Rs.111 or 2.24% to Rs. 5064 per BBL while NATURALGAS May-2025 contract was up by Rs.9.9 or 3.25% to Rs. 314.8 per MMBTU.
CRUDE OIL futures clocked turnover of Rs. 647.60 crores and NATURAL GAS futures Rs. 860.16 crores.
AGRI: MENTHAOIL May-2025 contract was up by Rs.10.3 or 1.13% to Rs. 924 per kg and COTTONCNDY May-2025 contract was down by Rs.310 or 0.57% to Rs. 54200 per candy.

Commodity Options accounted for Rs. 75919.34 crores turnover (notional), having premium turnover of Rs. 1200.7 crores.
CRUDE OIL Options: Most traded contracts among CRUDE OIL Options were Call Option May contract at Strike price of Rs.5000 was up by Rs.56.4 or 56.06% to Rs. 157.00 with volume of 79137 lots & OI of 13514 lots, while CRUDE OIL Put Option May-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.5000 was down by Rs.53.7 or 36.38% to Rs. 93.9 with volume of 71186 lots & OI of 12949 lots.
NATURAL GAS Options: Most traded contracts among NATURAL GAS Options were Call Option May contract at Strike price of Rs.310 was up by Rs.4.9 or 32.56% to Rs. 19.95 with volume of 12792 lots & OI of 4518 lots, while NATURAL GAS Put Option May-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.310 was down by Rs.4.15 or 20.75% to Rs. 15.85 with volume of 10358 lots & OI of 4116 lots.
GOLD Options: Most traded contracts among GOLD Options were Call Option May-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.97000 was down by Rs.197 or 10.41% to Rs. 1695 with volume of 2466 lots & OI of 470 lots, while GOLD Put Option May-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.96000 was up by Rs.186 or 13.79% to Rs. 1535 with volume of 2139 lots & OI of 434 lots.
SILVER Options: Most traded contracts among SILVER Options were Call Option June contract at Strike price of Rs.96000 was up by Rs.117.5 or 3.81% to Rs. 3198.5 with volume of 375 lots & OI of 180 lots, while SILVER Put Option June-2025 contract at Strike price of Rs.95000 was down by Rs.110 or 3.99% to Rs. 2650 with volume of 327 lots & OI of 506 lots.
